Save more: pay 7p (or less) for charging

Smart EV tariffs give you ultra-low overnight electricity rates or smart charging credits, to slash bills.

With Hypervolt, it’s simple: plug in, set your schedule, or let your tariff handle it automatically.

Bar chart comparing energy costs: Smart Tariffs 5–9p per kWh vs Standard Tariffs 25p per kWh.

What's best for you?

Tariffs are like crisps: they come in many flavours and everyone has their preference.
We’ve laid everything out in our tariff comparison table, but here are some quick recommendations:

If you

want the simplest deal with whole-home cheap hours

charge at random times and don’t want to think

want the lowest night rate

Then we recommend

Octopus Intelligent Go. Pay only 7p/kWh for 6 hours overnight, plus smart top-ups for the car.

E.ON Next Drive is 7.5p/kWh for a 6-hour period (but comes with a few perks like parking discounts).

OVO Charge Anytime. Works out to 14p/kWh (or ~4p/mile), with both Pay As You Go or monthly plans that have added perks.

So Energy (6.5p/kWh) and Good Energy (6.6p/kWh) both offer a 5-hour off peak window

Our claims explained

The smart charger that unlocks up to £600 in savings.
Savings assume home EV charging of 3,100 kWh/year on a smart EV tariff at 7p/kWh compared with the Ofgem price-cap average SVT electricity unit rate of 26.35p/kWh (Q4 2025). Actual savings depend on vehicle efficiency, miles driven, the share of charging done at home, regional unit rates and adherence to off-peak/smart-scheduled charging. The UK’s smartest charger.
Hypervolt is the only charger that’s integrated with the UK’s leading smart tariffs and has its own “Ultra Mode” that lets drivers charge for less even if they don’t have a smart tariff.

Works with all leading smart tariffs.
Hypervolt has direct integration with Octopus Energy, OVO Energy, and a strategic partnership with EDF Energy.
Octopus is now the UK’s largest residential energy supplier (FT) and has 260,000 customers on its Intelligent Octopus Go tariff, claiming it is the UK’s “favourite EV tariff” based on YouGov research.
WHATCAR? and Rightcharge both ranked OVO Charge Anytime, Intelligent Octopus Go, and E.On Next Drive in their top rankings.
While OVO and EDF do not publish adoption numbers for specific tariffs, based on their market position with the UK’s “Big Six” energy providers, the majority of EV drivers in the UK would be on tariffs with OVO, EDF, or Octopus.
